First, before we even get into this, can you believe we found EIGHT different ones. We couldn’t either. Yes, 4 of them are from 2 brands, but still!

Would you believe me if I said there were even more? There were some that we’ve heard of that couldn’t find, but also some of these brands have additional flavors but we thought that would be too many to try!

You may ultimately think our best is the worst and that’s okay. We created this video as hopefully a starting point for people and we can only go off our opinion.

WHAT VEGAN ICE CREAM SANDWICH BRANDS DID WE TRY?

Despite trying out 5 different brands, we know that there are even more out there. We just didn’t find them local to us. The brands that we did find and try are:

• Coolhaus
• Jolly Llama

HOW DID WE DO THE VEGAN ICE CREAM SANDWICH TASTE TEST?

It was really quite simple.

We literally just ate the ice cream.

Honestly, for many of our taste tests we go in thinking there may be taste or texture differences and that is what we are focusing on. We really went into this video thinking that everything was going to taste terrific. I mean it’s ice cream. Can it really be bad?

We weren’t doing these one to talk about rank or anything like that.

Best Vegan Ice Cream Sandwich Review:

Tofutti Cuties Snack Size Sandwiches

Thoughts: The Tofutti Cuties are small vegan ice cream sandwiches. Then fit in the palm of Larisha’s hand. They come in vanilla, chocolate and mint chocolate chip ice cream flavors. In the video, we tried both the vanill and chocolate ice cream sandwiches.

The flavor of the ice cream overall was great, but the chocolate wasn’t very pronounced in the chocolate version. They agreed that there wasn’t much of a difference between the chocolate and vanilla in terms of taste.

So Delicious Dairy Free Sandwiches Vanilla Bean

Thoughts: The coconut flavor is VERY prominent in these. While we didn’t mind, we don’t think that people who don’t like coconut would like this. They are about the same size as the Tofutti Cuties.

In addition to the coconut based Vanilla Bean ones we tried, they also have Coconutmilk Coconut (I guess even more coconut-y?) and an almondmilk based vanilla one (the almondmilk one still contains coconut oil).

Jolly Llama Dairy Free Gluten Free Sandwiches Premium Vanilla

Thoughts: We liked these a lot. Love that they are gluten free for our friends that need that. The ice cream was good and thick! Thicker than the first two brands mentioned. We could tell the graininess that comes along with many gluten free items, but the overall taste was great.

In addition to the vanilla ones, they also have vegan mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches that are also gluten free.

Alen’s Organic Dairy Free Round Sammies Frozen Dessert

Thoughts: We tried two different dairy free ice cream sandwich flavors from Alden’s Organic. The first was a more traditional one – dairy free vanilla bean. And then we also tried the dairy free caramel drizzle ice cream sandwich.

Both of these are thicker with the amount of ice cream. The caramel is more of a vanilla cookie and not the traditional chocolate. The caramel drizzle flavor was absolutely amazing. Definitely not a traditional ice cream sandwich but that flavor was outstanding.

In addition to the two we tried, Alden’s Organic also has a dairy free key lime ice cream sandwich.

Coolhaus Awesome Dessert Dairy Free Frozen Dessert Sandwich

Thoughts: So these are different than the others in that they are not a traditional soft chocolate cake-like cookie with vanilla ice cream sandwiched in between. These are two actual cookies with ice cream sandwiched in between. The ice cream is a thick layer and they are delicious.

We tried the Dairy Free Tahitian Vanilla Frozen Dessert Sandwich and the Dairy Free Cookie Dough Lyfe Frozen Dessert Sandwich. We liked both but found that the cookie dough one was more favorable to both of us.

WHO WAS THE WINNER?

We didn’t really rank these based on who was a winner. We would purchase them all again. Larisha did say that the caramel Alden’s Organic Caramel Drizzle would have been her favorite; while Andrew would pick either of the Cool Haus versions because he loves cookies.
