An iconic food item will disappear 2022 Masters Tournament,
The Georgia Peach Ice Cream Sandwich, a famous dessert at Augusta National Golf Club, is not on the menu for this year’s event.
Jordan Ued, who travels from Farmington, NM, described the news as a “total bummer” on Monday afternoon.
A regular tournament, UD was eager to snag the sandwich, which features a glob of peach ice cream sandwiched between two sugar cookies.
“Actually, I saw it (Sunday) on Instagram,” UD said, shaking his head in despair.

“I came back a few years ago, came down (at the concession stand) and had maybe four or five hands full for me and my father-in-law. We were just patting them. It’s a total bummer.”
A worker at the concession stand near the giant leaderboard to the right of the opening hole said that “quite” patrons have asked about the missing dessert and “can’t believe it’s gone.”
Despite the dismay of some patrons, the worker said, as long as the concession stand still sells pimento cheese and egg salad sandwiches, all is well in the world.

Those staples at Masters remain $1.50.
“Pimento cheese is a classic,” said Zack Friedman, a Naples, Fla., native.
As Jack and his brother, Matt, emerge from the darkness of the concession stand building, their hands are filled with various objects.
“We literally bought it all for $29,” said Matt, when he saw the pile of sandwiches and snacks in his hands.
“We were told that the food was reasonably priced. I was still surprised to see a sandwich for $1.50.”
The Masters Club, Matt’s “go-to” sandwich, rose from $2.50 to $3 in 2022, as did the cost of other cold-cut sandwiches. Masters beer prices remain $5.
On her second visit to Augusta National, Linda Kortic marvels at reasonable food prices. “It’s amazing to see a sandwich for $1.50,” the Rhode Island native said at a sporting event.
“It’s $24 for two sandwiches, three barbecue sandwiches, three bottles of water, two bags of chips, and one chocolate chip cookie,” Kortic said with a smile.
Like UD, Kortic was looking forward to the Ice Cream Sandwich experience. He plans to snag a first this year.
“I put it on my list, but I didn’t see it,” she said.
Kortic wasn’t going to let that setback ruin her Masters experience. A little wait and efficiency at the concession stand was enough to brighten his mood.
“It’s streamlined, it’s easy, it’s quick access,” she said.
“The people are amazingly friendly and it’s just an amazing place and wonderful experience. I’ve never been to a sporting event like this.”
