Peach ice cream ingredients
Making ice cream at home can sound daunting but it is really easy and also takes only a few ingredients than the store-bought ones. And the best part is you have control over the quality of ingredients you use.
This no-cook, no-egg peach ice cream is made mainly with only 4 ingredients. Fresh peaches give it the flavor and you can peel them easily with a knife. Heavy whipping cream, whole milk, sugar, and a pinch of salt are all you need.
How to make peach ice cream?
It is really easy to make this fresh peach ice cream recipe without eggs at home in an ice cream maker.
The first step is to peel and chop the fresh peaches. This recipe requires only 2-3 peaches so it is not very time-consuming to peel them without blanching.
An easy way to peel the peaches without blanching them is to first cut them into halves and remove the seed. Then cut them into quarters and then from the edges, pull and remove the peels with a knife.
Now blend the peaches, sugar, milk, and a pinch of salt in a blender like Vitamix and make a smooth puree. Transfer the ice cream mixture into a mixing bowl and add heavy cream to it and mix it with a spatula or a spoon. There is no need to blend the cream.
Chill the mixture in the fridge for about 2 hours before churning it in the ice cream maker. Give the mixture a good stir before pouring it into the ice cream maker bowl. Churn it for about 25 minutes.
The peach ice cream will be of soft-serve consistency once the ice cream machine cycle ends. You can enjoy it as is or transfer it to a freezer-safe container and freeze it for 5-6 hours before serving.
Substitutions
If you cannot find fresh peaches, you can also make this peach ice cream with frozen peaches. Just ensure that you defrost them before blending them and making the ice cream mixture.
It is best to use whole milk for a nice creamy texture, however, if you are running out of it or want to use low-fat milk then you can use it. In that case, the ice cream will be less creamy and it can take longer to churn as well.
Serving suggestions
Peach ice cream is full of peach flavor and can be enjoyed as is in a bowl, sugar cone, or waffle cone. You can also top it with some fresh peaches, or tutti frutti while serving. It is also a perfect ice cream to add to the banana split sundae.
Equipment
An ice cream maker makes the entire process of making ice cream at home a breeze. I have made this peach ice cream in a Cuisinart ICE 100 ice cream maker. It has a compressor in it so there is no need to freeze the bowl for 24 hours before churning the ice cream.
Storage
Homemade peach ice cream can be stored in an air-tight container for about a month. It is absolutely delicious and flavorful, and will be gone in just a few days 🙂
