I don’t remember when my love affair with Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes began, but I do know that I’ve loved them since I was a kid.
The minute they put them out in stores every year, I buy two or three boxes just to get my fix as the season begins.
In 2019, they even released some in July for “Christmas in July” and it really felt like Christmas for me to be able to get my favorite snack cakes mid-year courtesy of Little Debbie! Ha!

Little Debbie Ice Cream
Update… I originally shared this recipe in December of 2020. To my knowledge, there was no Little Debbie Ice Cream of any flavor at that time.
But to my great surprise, in November 2021, there was a news story that there would be an official Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Ice Cream debut.
I was SO excited to try it but very sad to never find it in any of our local grocery or Walmart stores during the Christmas season. I walked down the freezer aisle every time I entered a store during the holiday season, but I always left disappointed.
Fast forward to February 2022 and Little Debbie has now announced that they will continue a collaboration with Hudsonville Ice Cream. They will be making a whole line of Little Debbie Snacks Ice Cream.
The new Little Debbie ice cream flavors will include several of the classic snack cakes: Oatmeal Creme Pies Ice Cream, Cosmic Brownies Ice Cream, Zebra Cakes Ice Cream, Honey Buns Ice Cream, Strawberry Shortcake Rolls Ice Cream, and the beloved Nutty Bars Ice Cream.
We’re talking brownie batter ice cream, peanut butter ice cream, soft oatmeal cookie pieces, and honey bun pieces… the list goes on!
I.am.swooning.
Anyway… maybe I’ll eventually try to make homemade versions for all of these treats, but for now, I’m going to continue enjoying my homemade version of the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Ice Cream.
And if you are like me and can’t find the official version, try making this homemade recipe and I promise, you will not be disappointed!
Now that I’ve updated… let’s get back on track and talk about my homemade frozen treat.
