At Jake’s Ice Cream, indulge in the finest gourmet treats that will take your taste buds on a delightful journey. Formerly known as Siesta Creamery, this charming ice cream parlor located at 6575 Midnight Pass Rd. in the Southbridge Mall has undergone a transformation. Sporting a fresh logo and new signage on the mall’s exterior, it is now known as Jake’s Ice Cream. However, what remains unchanged is the same award-winning ice cream that continues to be served inside.
A Place of Fun, Warmth, and Fond Memories
Step into Jake’s Ice Cream, and you’ll be welcomed into a joyous and inviting space. Chef and owner Jake Best crafts his ice creams on-site using his own hand-crafted recipes, a tradition he has upheld since 2020. With a smile on his face, Jake emphasizes, “Great ice cream makes great memories, and here at Jake’s, creating cherished moments is our passion.”
Unrivaled Flavors Beyond Imagination
Prepare to be amazed by the extraordinary flavors and ingredient combinations found in Jake’s creations. These go far beyond what you’d find in traditional ice cream shops. Each spoonful is a symphony of taste, carefully crafted to transport you to a realm of unparalleled delight.
Seasonal Delights and Endless Variety
Join in the Halloween festivities this October as Jake’s serves up its delectable new Spooky Spiced Pumpkin ice cream. The beloved Wicked Cobbler flavor from last fall will also make its delicious return. This tantalizing creation features notes of lightly spiced rum, buttered sweet cream, shortbread butter biscuits, praline pecans, and a peach finish.
As you enter November, let Jake’s Ice Cream be a part of your Thanksgiving celebration with their Dutch apple fritter ice cream. And in December, brace yourself for two extraordinary creations: peppermint stick ice cream and Black Forest cheesecake ice cream. These delightful flavors are sure to spark joy during the festive season.
Hand-Crafted Goodness Every Day
In addition to Jake’s specials, you’ll find a remarkable selection of 22 hand-crafted flavors on the menu every day. The freshness of the dairy is prioritized, with deliveries made three times a week. All dairy products come from a regional family-owned dairy farm co-op, guaranteeing the highest quality.
A Dream Realized on Siesta Key
For Jake Best, having his name displayed prominently on his own ice cream store in Siesta Key is a dream come true. A Sarasota native, he attended Pine View School and graduated from Riverview High School and the University of Florida. After relocating his young family from Denver back to Sarasota in 2019, Jake left behind a successful career in the surgical equipment field.
In a twist of fate, Jake had the opportunity to work with Dennis Yoder of the renowned Yoder family at the new Siesta Creamery ice cream shop. When the pandemic struck in March 2020, the store had to temporarily close its doors for two months. It was during this challenging time that Jake took over the business, infusing it with his own recipes and creative flair. Word quickly spread, and Siesta Key residents and visitors alike flocked to Jake’s Ice Cream, making 2021 a year of triumph.
Recognition and Accolades
The dedication and passion behind Jake’s Ice Cream have not gone unnoticed. In July, the esteemed Yelp business-review website honored Jake’s Ice Cream on Siesta Key by naming it one of the “Top 25 Ice Cream Spots in Florida.” This recognition is a testament to the exceptional quality and unforgettable taste found within each scoop.
