What began as a dream between two college friends has grown into one of Colorado Springs’ cherished local spots. In 1986, Josh and John, two Colorado College graduates, opened their first ice cream shop on Kiowa Street. Since then, they have been churning their ice cream slowly in turn-of-the-century rock salt and ice freezers, resulting in exceptionally creamy and flavorful treats. With a move to a larger location on Pikes Peak and the addition of two new branches in Mountain Shadows and Flying Horse, they continue to offer unique flavors alongside their original menu.

A new addition to Downtown Colorado Springs, Frozen Gold brings a whole new twist to soft serve ice cream. Toppings like salted potato sticks, Cheetos, and Pop Rocks take your taste buds on an adventure. The shop’s vibrant and futuristic atmosphere feels like a blend of The Jetsons and Downtown L.A. So, after you’ve enjoyed some tacos, whiskey, or pizza on South Tejon Street, cool down with their unique and creamy soft serve.

What to order: While they offer many fun and distinctive flavors, we highly recommend trying their vegan Samoa Samoa, inspired by the beloved Girl Scout Cookie. Despite being dairy-free, it’s incredibly creamy and sweet. Take a look at their full menu here!
