Homemade Dole Whip
If you’ve ever been to Disneyland, you may have had the opportunity to try pineapple dole whip. This tasty, frozen treat was one I daydreamed about for years, until one day I decided to recreate the treat right at home.
I made this delicious pineapple ice cream and it was absolutely fantastic! This frozen treat is so tasty—we’ve made it over and over again. My whole family loves it.
Guilt-Free Treat
Plus I love that it’s practically guilt-free because it’s made up of simply fruit and a little coconut milk. There’s no corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, or preservatives in this simple recipe. One of my kids gets hyperactive if he eats anything with high fructose corn syrup, so I look for simple clean eating recipes that are easy to make for my kids.

How to Make Pineapple Whip
Making this pineapple dole whip recipe is so easy! All it takes are a few ingredients and a couple minutes of time.
Ingredients:
- banana – ripe
- frozen pineapple chunks – you can cut up a fresh pineapple and freeze the chunks too, but for the quickest, easiest option, just buy a bag of frozen pineapple chunks
- coconut milk – I think coconut milk tastes best, but if you don’t have it or if you are intolerant, you can also use almond or cashew milk
- Optional ingredients – grass-fed collagen peptides (for a creamier taste and added benefits), rum extract (for a more adult flavor)
You won’t need an ice cream maker for this homemade dole whip, but you will need a food processor.
Step by Step Directions for Pineapple Whip
Put the banana, pineapple chunks, and coconut milk into your food processor.
Blend for 20-40 seconds or so (depending on how powerful your processor is). Heads up – it will probably make a lot of noise! Frozen pineapple takes power to chop up! Make sure you have the stopper on the top to prevent anything from flying out.
If you’re adding collagen peptides, add a scoop to your pineapple coconut ice cream now. If you want to add a little extra taste for adults, add 1/2 tsp rum extract or actual rum if you prefer.
Stop and scrape down the sides and blend again for a few more seconds until it’s nice and creamy.
Your healthy pineapple ice cream is ready to serve right away!
Make-Ahead Homemade Dole Whip
You can also turn this into a make-ahead recipe. If you plan to serve later or would like your Dole whip recipe a little firmer, scoop into a container and freeze for 1-2 hours. A bread pan is the perfect size for this!
If you leave your pineapple whip in the freezer overnight, you’ll need to thaw it for 20 minutes or so before you can scoop it.
Scoop and serve your delicious healthy homemade Dole Whip!
Add a chunk of pineapple on top for more juicy pineapple flavor.
