Level of difficulty: Easy. Measure, blend, divide, top with extra goodness, and enjoy!
Flavor: The predominant flavor in frozen mudslides is chocolate.
Time: It will take you less than 5 minutes to make this mudslide drink recipe.

KEY INGREDIENTS FOR FROZEN MUDSLIDES
Chocolate Ice Cream: this is the base of your boozy ice cream drink, so I recommend picking a good chocolate ice cream (choose one you’d enjoy eating on it’s own)!
Booze: mudslides are a little sneaky…you can hardly taste the coffee liquor, Irish cream, and vodka that all go into this boozy ice cream drink! I typically use Kahlua, Baileys, and a high quality plain vodka. However, if you have local distilleries or other brands of these types of liquors that you enjoy, they will work well in this mudslide recipe.
Chocolate Syrup: for adding a little decoration to your glasses (that will melt into your cocktail). I like to use a dark chocolate syrup in mine.
Whipped Cream: while not required, I highly recommend adding this. Go big, or go home!
Chocolate Shavings: again, not required, but the perfect topper on your frozen mudslide. I use my hand grater and shave a little bit off of a good quality 70% dark chocolate bar.

TIPS & TRICKS FOR MAKING THE BEST MUDSLIDE
Use a good quality ice cream! The chocolate ice cream is the base of this mudslide drink recipe! Selecting a pint of chocolate ice cream that you like to eat on it’s own will ensure your frozen mudslide is fantastic. If you’re splurging on an ice cream drink already, you might as well get the good stuff (at least that’s my philosophy)!
Do I have other ice cream flavor options? Yes! You can also make a great frozen mudslide with vanilla ice cream or coffee ice cream. You do you!
Can I use a flavored vodka instead of regular vodka in this mudslide recipe? Definitely! If you’d like to up the chocolate factor even more, using a chocolate vodka would be a great option. You could also use vanilla vodka or whipped cream vodka in this dessert cocktail.
Have fun with your toppings! While I recommend whipped cream and shaved chocolate, get creative with your toppings! If you’d like to add more chocolate syrup – do it! If you’d like to add some chocolate sprinkles or rim your glass with sprinkles – go for it!
Is there a low calorie option for this frozen mudslide? I have to tell you, frozen mudslides are not a low calorie drink option. And that’s ok. Something you’ve got to let loose and have an amazing dessert drink! If you REALLY want to try and cut some calories and still enjoy a frozen mudslide, look for a lower calorie ice cream that still tastes good on it’s own.
