Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour, made famous in the Harry Potter books, offers a delightful array of unique ice cream flavors. Admire the window displays featuring spinning ice cream cones, and don’t miss the light-up cone on the roof. While the shop itself doesn’t have seating, you can find some in Carkitt Market. Just be sure to keep your ice cream safe as you pass the fire-breathing dragon atop Gringotts Wizarding Bank!

Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour is located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley, which can be found in Universal Studios Florida.

Hours and Reservations

Except for rare exceptions, Florean Fortescue’s is open whenever Diagon Alley and the rest of Universal Studios Florida is open. Reservations are not necessary.

Fun Facts

Florean Fortescue may be a minor character, but he makes quite an impression on Harry Potter. In the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry frequents The Leaky Cauldron and often studies in Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour. Besides serving Harry ice cream sundaes every half-hour, Fortescue offers advice on his History of Magic report. Turns out, Fortescue is not only a master ice cream maker but also knowledgeable about medieval wizards.

In addition to the interesting backstory of its proprietor, Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour is known for offering “hundreds-and-thousands” as a topping – or as we Americans call them, sprinkles. This attention to British vernacular is just another example of the Wizarding World’s dedication to theming.
