The base of the recipe only requires cottage cheese and honey. However, I decided to have some fun and add my own twist by incorporating banana and swirls of peanut butter into the mix. Some brands have fillers and preservatives, while others keep it simple with ingredients like milk and cream. For this recipe, I highly recommend using full-fat cottage cheese. Ice cream relies on fats to achieve that creamy texture, and the small 4% fat content in full-fat cottage cheese ensures a creamier result. If you opt for low-fat or no-fat varieties, the ice cream may be less creamy and more icy.
