An iconic food will be missing from the 2022 Masters Tournament.
The Georgia Peach Ice Cream Sandwich, a famous treat at Augusta National Golf Club, is not on the menu at this year’s event.
Jordan Eudey, who made the trip from Farmington, NM, described the news as a “total disappointment” on Monday afternoon.
Tournament regular Eudey was eager to get her hands on the sandwich, which features a scoop of peach ice cream sandwiched between two sugar cookies.
“Actually, I saw it (Sunday) on Instagram,” Eudey said while shaking his head in disappointment.

“I went back a few years ago, went down (to the concession stand) and had an armful of them, probably four or five for me and my father-in-law. We were just hammering them. It’s a complete bummer.”
A worker at the concession stand near the huge sorting table to the right of the opening pit said “many” customers have asked about the missing dessert and “can’t believe it’s gone.”

Despite the disappointment of some customers, the worker said, all is well as long as the concession stand continues to sell egg salad and pimento cheese sandwiches.

Those Masters staples are still $1.50.
“Pimento cheese is a classic,” said Zack Freedman, a native of Naples, Florida.
When Zack and his brother, Matt, emerged from the darkness of the concession building, their hands were full of various items.
“We literally bought all of this for $29,” Matt said as he looked at the large number of sandwiches and snacks in his hands.
“We had been told that the food was reasonably priced. I was still surprised to see a sandwich for $1.50.”
The Masters Club, Matt’s “preferred” sandwich, has increased from $2.50 to $3 in 2022, as has the cost of the other deli sandwiches. Masters beer prices remain at $5.
On her second trip to Augusta National, Linda Kortick continues to be amazed at the reasonable food prices. The Rhode Island native said, “It’s amazing to see sandwiches for $1.50” at a sporting event.
“This is $24 for two sandwiches, three barbecue sandwiches, three bottles of water, two bags of chips and a chocolate chip cookie,” Kortick said with a smile.
Like Eudey, Kortick was looking forward to the ice cream sandwich experience. She planned to snag one for the first time this year.

“I put it on my list, but I didn’t see it,” he said.
Kortick wasn’t about to let that setback ruin his Masters experience. The short wait and the efficiency at the concession stand were enough to cheer him up.
“It’s simplified, it’s easy, there’s quick access,” he said.
“The people are incredibly friendly and it’s just an amazing place and an amazing experience. I have never been to a sporting event like this.”
